Went from IE stage 2 to jackal stage 2. I didn't think that it would be this much of a difference but my goodness it is a night and day difference smoother shifts and harder launch and feels like there's more power compared to IE. Wish I went with jackal from the start. Can't wait to see the difference of the custom tune.

I just flashed the Stage 1 91 file and TCU on my 2018 Q7 and love it. Shifts are smooth but quick... and it just pulls awesome in sports mode. The standard drive mode in stage 1 is what should have come from the factory. We were having some partial throttle clunk with the stock tune and that is gone with Stage 1. I'm guessing the SC clutch, but since it is locked that isn't a problem any more. I think we will still go for the clutch delete in the future. At this point I can't say if there is any increase in MPG, but the drivability of the Q7 is so better I'm all smiles. Now I need to move my Stage 2 B8.5 S4 over to Jackal. And Matt, thank you for the quick reply on my email afterhours!

I am so glad I was recommended to use Jackal. Key points that made me want to use Jackal:
-I could flash my vehicle as many times between whatever tune I want.
-Price. Could not beat it for the endless flash option.
-Support. Matt is very prompt with responses (as other have attested to).
-Tune updates. It seems like Jackal is always trying to better their product. I had an APR stage 1 on my vehicle when I bought it, I checked with the shop that had updated it to stage 1 and asked if there were any revisions to APR stage 1 and was informed there were not. Jackal's latest stage 1 revision was in March of '25.
-Quality of the product. The file downloaded, installed, and my A6 started right up after without any warning lights. It also didn't erase the remote start software I have installed.

If you are on the fence about tuning your Q7, just do it. Noticeable difference in power gains and fuel economy everywhere. Don't expect a rocket ship - the thing still weights 5200lbs - but torque along will impressed the other soccer moms who drive these sporadically around your area. Be different - tune it big daddy.

I currently have Jackal’s Stage 2+ tune (93oct) with just DP - no upgraded TB, LPFP/HPFP, etc. This kit improved my A6 CREC’s fueling/performance ten-fold without having to break the bank on other upgrades. Highly recommend it and as stated; the install was very easy for a DIYer like myself.
